“Something New” is the first single (and accompanying video) to be taken from In This Light, the forthcoming fifth album by Swedish dark-pop act Principe Valiente. Marking a bold evolution in the group’s decade-plus journey, the album’s ten meticulously crafted songs lay bare the signature ethereal soundscapes and dark ambient allure that initially propelled them onto the alternative scene with their self-titled 2011 debut album.
In This Light is a symphony of mellotrons, samplers and analog synths harmonizing with the celestial resonance of Rickenbacker 12-string and Gretsch guitars played by Jimmy Ottosson, further enriched by melodic piano and distinctively distorted driving bass that is all enveloped in the enigmatic voice of singer Fernando Honorato.
The In This Light album will be released by Metropolis Records on May 3rd and is available for pre-order via Bandcamp.
