Industrial Soundtrack For The Urban Decay a film by Amélie Ravalec (Paris/Berlin: 20 Years of Underground Techno) and Travis Collins premieres Friday May 8th at BFI SOUTHBANK, London, UK. Screenings continue throughout Europe and North America until July 17th.
The film traces the origins of industrial music but it also comments on art and history, politics and social issues, post-industrialization and urban decay by taking you on a journey through the crumbling industrial cities of Europe to America’s thriving avant-garde scene.
Industrial music pioneers included in the film are Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, SPK, NON, Clock DVA, Test Dept and Z’EV.
