From the album Fading Into This Grace by Italian goth/post-punk band Date at Midnight on Manic Depression Records comes the new single ‘Rendez-Vous’ along with video.
Date at Midnight says: “The video of ‘Rendez-Vous’ recalls the nostalgia and melancholy expressed by the song. The story of the protagonist Alessandra Piscopo, an actress already known to audiences of the big and small screen, is intertwined with that of an enigmatic figure, waiting for an appointment that will eventually (perhaps?) arrive in a totally unexpected way. Set in a labyrinthine and evocative Rome, strictly in b/w, the video is shot by Laurivisual, who curated the subject together with us.”
Date at Midnight, currently composed of Daniele De Angelis (vocals), Pasquale Vico (bass, synth), Francesco Mignogna (drums) and Nunzio Biviano (guitar, synth), were born in Rome in 2007, having as their primary references bands such as Joy Division, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Christian Death and Fields of the Nephilim. After the publication of a self-titled EP in 2008 for In the Night Time Records, the band signed for the French label Manic Depression Records, releasing three albums (‘No Love’, 2011; ‘Songs to Fall and Forget’, 2016 and ‘Fading into This Grace’, 2024) and an EP (‘Reverse Resilience’, 2018). The band has toured extensively around the Europe – including performances at such festivals as Autumn Moon (DE), Minicave Festival (DE), Spain Gothic Festival (ES), Return to the Batcave (PL), Porto Gothic Fest (POR), Apocalyptic Factory Festival (DE), Campus Noir (DE), Owls ‘n’ Bats (DE), Dark Skies Over Witten (DE), North Shadows Festival (FR) – and sharing stages with the likes of And Also The Trees, Andi Sex Gang, Christian Death, Corpus Delicti, Covenant, Diary of Dreams, Fields of the Nephilim, She Past Away, Then Comes Silence and The Chameleons Vox.
