Electronic music label and publisher of books about electronic music State of the Bass UK is set to release Generation Blitz compilation featuring thirty-four tracks from the frontline of today’s 1979 – 81 electronic post punk/ synthpop inspired global underground including previously unreleased tracks by BlakLight, Birmingham Electric, Ditsea Yella and Wavewulf with a Nostalgia Deathstar.
Generation Blitz will be released as a double CD and cassette via Bandcamp. Physical copies will be accompanied by a 7” square magazine with introductions to the artists, the highly influential radio shows that have nurtured this community over the years and essays on the cultural impact of the original Generation Blitz.
Generation Blitz was compiled by Martin James and Timo Jalkanen with support from Gary Fones.The gatefold sleeve CD can pre-ordered via Bandcamp and ships July 30, 2021.
The first 150 copies of physical releases come with a copy of Generation Blitz magazine.
