German darkwave project Die Tödin gathers recordings spanning 2022–2025 on a self-titled collection for Heartworm Press. Bringing together previously released material, the nine-track album offers an entry point into a stark, uncompromising world of minimal electronics, cold rhythms, gothic atmospheres, and mordant lyrical observations.
Moving between German and English, Die Tödin explores death, alienation, mental distress, and social conformity with a combination of bleak introspection and caustic humor. Tracks such as “Ich bin schon tot,” “Angepasste Spießerschweine,” and “living that DSBM life” reflect the project’s particular intersection of darkwave, industrial sensibilities, and the darker edges of underground culture.
Rather than presenting a collection of entirely new recordings, Die Tödin brings earlier work together in one place, giving these previously scattered releases a more cohesive form. Its arrival on Heartworm Press also marks a significant new chapter for the project, extending its reach beyond its original underground context.
Available October 30 on digital formats and vinyl, including limited-edition pressings.
