Cherry Red’s founder Iain McNay sits down with label director, John Reed to discuss how their new The Year Punk Broke CD box set came to life and the explosion of a new British punk phenomenon in 1977 as it saw significant musical developments happening, with a burgeoning, self-supporting network of clubs, performers, fanzines, indie labels and distributors creating an unstoppable groundswell that would revolutionize UK music and have an enduring impact on pop culture.
