Pittsburgh goth-industrial duo ShadowMouth will release their debut full-length album, Modern Alchemy, digitally on October 14, with vinyl and CD editions following October 16 via Death of the Party Records.
The eight-track, 31-minute album expands on the project’s dark blend of gothic rock, industrial textures and post-punk atmospherics. Led by Rick Polo, with Brooks Farris on drums and production, ShadowMouth explore contemporary anxieties through titles such as “DOOM SCROLLERS vs HOLY ROLLERS” and “The Weight of the Algorithm Is the Sum of Our Death.”
The album also features collaborations with The Elder Goths and Sounds Pretty Grim, bringing additional vocal layers to a sound that balances shadowy melodies with harsher industrial elements.
Following the Purification By Fire EP and a series of singles, Modern Alchemy marks ShadowMouth’s first full-length statement.
