Berlin-based dark electronic duo NNHMN return with Opera of Lust & the Art of Sorrow II, the second chapter in their ongoing exploration of desire, melancholy and the darker corners of electronic music.
Released August 27, 2026 through K-Dreams Records, the new seven-track EP finds Lee and Michal Laudarg continuing to blur the lines between darkwave, minimal synth, gothic electronics and the dancefloor. NNHMN describe the record as an “intoxicating opera of longing and loss,” combining cinematic soundscapes, hypnotic rhythms and ethereal vocals with a distinctly nocturnal atmosphere.
The EP follows a string of singles released throughout 2026, including “Strange Love,” “Say My Name,” “Touch Me,” “Gangster,” “Mannequin” and “Cold Like Steel.” The latter takes a noticeably slower and more melancholic approach, adding another dimension to the duo’s darker side.
With Opera of Lust & the Art of Sorrow II, NNHMN continue an evolution that has taken them from their early minimal-wave work into something increasingly cinematic, sensual and expansive. The result is another chapter in the duo’s strange and hypnotic world—one that feels less interested in genre boundaries than in creating its own atmosphere.
