Los Angeles-based trio Nuovo Testamento—made up of vocalist Chelsey Crowley, drummer Giacomo Zatti, and synth wizard Andrea Mantione—has spent recent years igniting dance floors around the globe with their infectious fusion of moody Italo-disco and shimmering synth-pop. Imagine your favorite retro synth anthems reimagined through a sleek, contemporary lens—hook-heavy, emotionally resonant, and impossible to forget.
Today marks the release of their latest project, the Trouble EP—a bold step forward in the band’s evolution, offering their most introspective and ambitious material yet.
“This record doesn’t hold back—it’s curious, confrontational, and rooted in a belief in the future,” the band shares. “Trouble explores the fault lines within ourselves and dares to dream of something more—something playful, authentic, and new.”
The EP’s standout tracks, including “Picture Perfect” and “Dream On,” pay homage to the ’80s and ’90s genres that inspire them—seamlessly blending freestyle, synth-pop, and alt sounds into a cohesive, dancefloor-ready experience. With crisp, modern production by Maurizio Baggio (Boy Harsher, The Soft Moon) and the group’s knack for writing irresistibly catchy songs, Nuovo Testamento delivers a sonic identity that’s both nostalgic and unmistakably forward-thinking.
Fans can catch Nuovo Testamento live this summer with shows in New York and Tucson, followed by a September tour supporting Sextile, and newly announced fall dates with Scowl and Sunami. Full tour details below.
